About the Ebac BD70

The Ebac BD70 is a compact building dryer designed for the hire trade. It is built from welded steel to cope with site life, but it runs quietly enough to leave on in an occupied home.

It is plug and play: close the doors and windows, position the machine, plug in and switch on. Water drains by gravity through a hose to a drain, or into a container placed under the outlet. The machine lowers the humidity in the room so walls, plaster and timber give up their moisture faster.

Best for

  • Drying rooms after plastering, screeding and decorating
  • Minor leaks and damp rooms
  • Occupied homes where noise matters
  • Spaces up to about 100 m³

Questions about the Ebac BD70

Does it have a pump?+

No. The BD70 drains by gravity, so the hose needs to run downhill to a drain, or you can collect the water in a container under the outlet. If you have no drain lower than the machine, ask us about the Ebac CD35P or Dri-Eaz BD1000, which have built-in pumps.

How much water will it take out?+

Typically around 12 litres a day, and up to 20 litres a day where the damp is severe.

Is it quiet enough to use while we live in the house?+

Yes. At around 50 dB(A) it is one of the quietest machines we hire.

Will it work in an unheated building?+

Yes, from 3°C. Hot gas defrost keeps the coils clear of ice.

Do you deliver and collect?+

Yes. We deliver and collect across Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath, Bristol, Somerset and north Dorset, within roughly an hour of Trowbridge. We can set the machine up for you, or drop it off with instructions.

How long can I hire it for?+

By the day or by the week. Weekly hire works out cheaper, and most drying jobs need at least a week. Call us and we will advise how long your job is likely to take.

How much does it cost to hire?+

Call 07971 435221 or send an enquiry and we will give you a price for your dates, including delivery.

Is the machine checked before it goes out?+

Yes. Every machine is checked before each hire.

What if it stops working during the hire?+

Switch it off at the wall and call us. We will talk you through it or swap the machine.

Can you do the drying for me instead?+

Yes. We offer a full structural drying service with moisture readings and a drying report for your insurer. Structural and building drying

Safety information

  • Read the operating instructions supplied with the machine before switching on. If anything is unclear, call us first.
  • Keep the machine upright. If it has been laid on its side during transport, stand it upright for at least 30 minutes before switching on.
  • Plug directly into a suitable, undamaged socket. Do not use damaged leads, and if an extension lead is unavoidable, use a correctly rated one that is fully unwound.
  • Use an RCD-protected supply where possible.
  • Stand the machine on a firm, level surface, away from standing water.
  • Keep the air inlet and outlet clear. Never cover the machine or place anything on top of it while it is running.
  • Route power cables and drain hoses so they are not a trip hazard, and check the hose is not kinked or crushed.
  • Keep children and pets away from the machine.
  • Switch off and unplug before moving, emptying or checking the machine.
  • Indoor use only. Do not use the machine outdoors or expose it to rain.
  • If the machine makes an unusual noise, smells of burning, or stops working, switch it off at the wall and call us on 07971 435221. Do not open the casing or attempt repairs.
  • Where electrics may have been affected by flood water, do not use any sockets until they have been checked by a qualified electrician.

Specific to this unit

  • This unit drains by gravity. The drain hose must always run downhill to a drain. If you use a container instead, check and empty it regularly.
  • Keep doors and windows closed while it runs so it dries the room, not the outside air.
  • Weighs up to 27 kg. Use the carrying handle and castors.
